Harmonie Associates, Inc. - Old Economy Village was the third and final home of one of America's most successful Christian communal societies. Original buildings, erected in 1824-1830, are furnished with collections of the Harmony Society, a German pietistic group which adhered to a devout and celibate way of life. Seventeen carefully restored structures and gardens are interpreted to reflect the unusual life style of the organization known worldwide for its economic success in textile production, agricultural products and later in railroads and oil. Old Economy Village is administered by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.

Old Economy Village is open Tuesday-Saturday from 9 Am-5PM; Sunday Noon until 5 PM. Closed on Mondays and holidays, except Memorial, July 4, and Labor Day. Admission charged. The Harmonie Associates was formed in 1956 as a volunteer, non-profit educational organization concerned with the preservation and interpretation of historic Old Economy Village in Ambridge, PA. Through the years, the Associates have developed programs with the site which invite participation from all age and interest levels. Tours, festivals, classes, lectures, and other special programs are an integral part of site activity and have attracted visitors from far and wide. Membership in the Harmonie Associates, Inc. is open to the public. Different membership categories entitle you to various benefits based on your membership choice. Volunteer participation in site activities is also welcomed. The Association holds several fund-raising activities during the year to help support its programming. Member are encouraged, but not required, to participate in all events of The Harmonie Associates.
