Step into the past and bring learning to life at Old Economy Village’s Homeschool Days — special seasonal events designed especially for homeschool students and families! Held four times a year, each event features hands-on activities, interactive learning, and immersive experiences that align with the seasons.

Old Economy Village's Homeschool Days feature special activities that have been designed with homeschool students and homeschooling families in mind. Bring a picnic lunch and plan to spend the whole day at Old Economy Village!

Hands On Holiday Homeschool Day

Friday December 19, 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. will feature:

​​

• Beekeeping Demonstrations. Learn about the important role of bees in the 19th century and today from our historic beekeepers.

• Textile Activity with Three River Fiber Focus

• Blacksmithing

• Wood Working and homemade wooden toys

• Letter Press printing

• Hear a funny holiday story

• Make a holiday ornament

• Meet Belsnickel, the German keeper of the Naughty and Nice Book for St. Nicholas. 

• Enjoy the Festival of Trees and holiday decorations throughout the Village. 

• Check out Deck the Paws to see what some of the animals are wearing in the Natural History Museum.
