Bring history to life with our seasonal Homeschool Days, held four times a year! Families are invited to explore the village and take part in a variety of hands-on, educational activities that reflect the time of year.

Homeschool Days at Old Economy Village

Step into the past and bring learning to life at Old Economy Village’s Homeschool Days — special seasonal events designed especially for homeschool students and families! Held four times a year, each event features hands-on activities, interactive learning, and immersive experiences that align with the seasons.

Pack a picnic lunch, stay the day, and explore the village as it was in the 1830s!

 

Old Economy Village's Homeschool Days feature special activities that have been designed with homeschool students and homeschooling families in mind. Bring a picnic lunch and plan to spend the whole day at Old Economy Village!

Hands On Harvest Homeschool Day

Friday October 17, 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. will feature:

​

  • Beekeeping Demonstrations. Learn about the important role of bees in the 19th century and today from our historic beekeepers.

  • Food Harvesting tools

  • Discover flax processing with Three River Fiber Focus

  • Learn about local wildlife with Raccoon State Park

  • Blacksmithing and Wood Working

  • Letter Press printing

  • Ambridge Fire Trucks and Firemen activities

  • Garden activities including vermiculture and the worm hotel!

  • Candle dipping, make apple cider, and other Fall activities!

  • Fellowship Tent. Take a break, enjoy your picnic lunch, and connect with other homeschooling families in our shaded fellowship area.

$5 per child and adult. At least 1 adult is required for each family or group.
